Describing the principles of corrosion behavior and metal recovery is made concise by utilizing pictures, figures, graphs, and schematic models. This is followed by deriving equations to quantify relevant parameters. Additionally, example problems are incorporated to illustrate the practical application of electrochemical concepts and mathematics in solving complex corrosion problems.

This book of “Electrochemistry and Corrosion Science” differs from others in that the subject matter is organized around the modeling and predicating approaches that are used to determine detrimental and beneficial electrochemical events. Thus, this book will take a more practical approach and make it especially useful as a basic text and reference for professional engineers.

The purpose of this book is to introduce mathematical and engineering approximation schemes for describing the thermodynamics and kinetics of electrochemical systems, which are the essence of corrosion science.
